About Piri
Piri puts the world's stories on a globe. Articles, news briefs and videos play out place by place, narrated in your language. Short notes from authors land where they were written. And Piri, the guide, answers on the map.
What you'll find
Articles: long reads by authors — most play on the globe, narrated chapter by chapter; some are read as a page; many can be listened to. News: briefs of the day, the week or a region, every story pinned where it happened. Videos, with a map that follows along and subtitles in your language. Notes: a few lines from an author, posted the moment they are written.
Ask the map.
Ask about anywhere on Earth. Piri answers out loud, in your language, and draws the answer on the globe: routes, markers, photographs, figures and the sources it read. Ask from the Ask Piri page, inside a story, on the day's news map, or while a video plays.
Reading, listening and coming back
A story plays on the globe, reads as a page or plays in the background like a podcast. Stories can be translated and re-narrated in English, Turkish, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian. Follow authors, save stories to collections, comment and react.
Why we built it
Piri is an independent project, built on a simple idea: the news should feel less like a wall of text and more like a place you can visit.
