Turkey's maritime strategy must balance power projection with access denial/area denial, drawing on the Chinese model. While China's aircraft carriers are backed by the Pacific Ocean, Turkey's future aircraft carrier would be backed by the constricted geography of the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.
