Japan is revising its three security documents by year-end to bolster defense capabilities amid China’s military rise and Russia-Moscow cooperation. Prime Minister Takaichi will visit Vietnam and Australia in early May to advance the Free and Open Indo-Pacific, while Defense Minister Koizumi meets counterparts in Indonesia and the Philippines; Japan has offered India Mogami-class frigate designs, and the Pentagon is studying joint warship production with Japan and South Korea to counter China’s shipbuilding lead.
