NATO, militarization, and Turkey

NATO’s 2025 Hague Summit set a 5% GDP defense target by 2035, with 3.5% for core capabilities, ahead of the July 2026 Ankara summit. Europe is shifting budgets toward military spending, with Britain, Germany and the EU cutting social funds to meet US-led demands for higher air, naval and overall capabilities.
