Third Intermediate Period of Egypt: Era of Foreign Invasion

During Egypt’s Third Intermediate Period (c. 1069–525 BCE), power was shared between Tanis’s secular kings and Thebes’s high priests of Amun, often linked by family ties. Libyan influence grew, followed by Kushite and Persian invasions that ended native autonomy until Alexander’s conquest in 331 BCE.
